Hello Darlings.

I'm starving. My head is spinning. I'd like to go to the gym but my P.A. is on her day off. I have two meetings and a makeup gig tonight which rules out gym time. Thank God for the treadmills at home.

Recently, I learned that my eldest sister is opening up a hardcore gym with her husband. The other sister is planning to open up something to do with alternative medication. My youngest sister is going to Singapore for a course and myself is diving into another business project. I have found a spot for my new store *smiling* and my staff is ready to work but I have yet to sign and send a few paperwork.

Other than that, I miss Bas.

Hello darlings.

Alhamdulilah, my eldest sister got married last week and as you may have guessed, I was her MUA. Didn't really have a choice because she trusted no one else to do her makeup nor her brows. And although I was MIA half of her event (I was doing Suria's makeup for her wedding reception at Empire that same morning), I managed to be at her post-wedding photo shoot at Empire from start to finish! I love her room, I think it was the executive suite (east atrium), it overlooked the beach and the boyfriend took beautiful shots of them outside the balcony.

Like 99% of my brides, my sister wears little or no makeup at all and wanted to keep her makeup light and natural - a specialty of mine.

Hello darlings.

After a crash course on bridal makeup with the oh-so-wonderful Ian Sham, I decided to try it out on my newly wed, Suria Ideris solemnization makeup last week.

The makeup application was thicker than usual. It's quite new to me. It looks good after all especially in photos and Suria loves it -- which matters the most! Jason has more photos of Suria's wedding and I haven't seen closeup photos of her wedding reception makeup in his website yet. Ho hum.

And I had a lovely time with my bride-to-be, Dizah today. I am very, very happy that she was impressed with my makeup. Hoping she will post up pictures from her makeup trial session from this afternoon. Fingers crossed.

Last week I managed to do Diana, Suria and Nesreen's wedding makeup. Last Sunday was the craziest, I had to do Nesreen's solemnization makeup at 8 am and Suria's wedding reception makeup at 10 am. Thank God I am brilliant at managing my time. But can you imagine me doing one makeup to another from Temburong to Bandar the same morning? *laughs* well it's been done.

I keep telling myself being a makeup artist is not a job. If it is, I love it and I am very lucky. It gives me great satisfaction when my brides tell me how they loved their makeup. And plus, I always get great goodies from them *laughs*

Hello darlings.

Mum took me out for lunch at a restaurant in Pusat Seni. Best part of the restaurant was not just the view but the food. Great place to bring friends from out of town. Highly recommended by me!

And after attending customers since morning, teaching makeup class in the afternoon and a makeup job at Rizqun, I managed to send in my makeup article on time to Copycat. I love my new muse's face, Khadijah. The 24 year old doesn't look her age! That's what I love about people sometimes *smiles*

Finally, got to meet my darling buddy Conia, who I must say, rocked my PMS collection (my clothing line that never officially launched).

Did I mention I miss KL?

Hello darlings.

It's been awhile. My new business venture and traveling have made blogging almost impossible but, I'm here now and here's what's happening to me now:

Although unclear, I may or may not have a column in a local magazine to write about makeup and a step-by-step makeup tutorial. I remember pitching the idea to my friend who works for the magazine and he loved the idea so much he asked me to write asap! Unfortunately, I was in Hong Kong and had limited sources.

Come November, here I am ... given 3 days deadline to take photos and write up everything *laughs* I hope it won't turn out a disaster. Today's my last day and I am nowhere near done.

Hello darlings.

A new business venture has kept me busy this past few months hence the lack of posts and updates. Other than that, I still am a makeup artist *smiles* and conducting makeup classes. I decided to take time out from 'work' and business for two weeks and spend them with my parents in Kuala Lumpur where I will meet few fabulous acquaintances in their line of work, you'll just have to keep coming back to find out who they are *smiles*.

Few makeup projects are coming up soon and a boutique opening, insyallah, is due to be opened sometime this year or early next year. Also, I am thinking of expanding my horizons by picking up a camera, to point and shoot! Everyone is a self-proclaimed photographer these days so I'm taking it all the way and doing it properly with courses and everything, again insyallah (this coming from a person who talks, no action *smiles*).

I am taking up diving now! The theory classes are interesting but a bit confusing at times with the physics and maths involved, luckily I managed to pass the final exams! Yeay for me! The part where I excelled the most was in the waters. We had our first confined water class the other day. Since I accidentally forgot about the afternoon class, I had to do it in the morning from 9 to 12.

I slabbed on sunblock but lo and behold, once I took off my wetsuit, I was horrified to find myself with a very bad tan! I was two-toned for God's sake! It was as if the lower part of my arms and legs were in a constant shadow.

Now I find myself looming over the whitening lotion section of department stores, looking for a solution but can't decide what to pick! I like to be darker than my actual skin tone but not this burnt! Any suggestions?

NAIL SPA REVIEW: DAY SPA & JAMU GARDEN

Having a mani-pedi at Day Spa & Jamu Garden was unexpected. In f act, if you are looking to do a basic mani-pedi, this is not the place. Although they provide this service and quickly usher you to take your seat in the back, what they'll fail to inform you is what you're really in for -- a mani-pedi spa treatment that costs BND40. Note: when going to a nail salon, always ask what they do (process) and how much it will cost.

Overall, I was terribly disappointed with one of the two manicurists. The lady who did my fingernails did a dismal job of clipping off my nails without asking me the length I wanted to keep. Worst, she did not do a very good job of filing my nails properly leaving my nails looking short but sharp around the edges (note edges, not rounded) and in a state of unevenness. And the dead cuticles around my fingernails were not completely removed! It was truly unprofessional. But because it is not an actual nail spa meaning the mani-pedi is actually an added service, I could forgive the manicurist who did my fingernails (there goes $20). Thankfully, the other manicurist who did my pedicure did a better job.

PROS. The process was good. I love the pampering (whitening scrub, relaxing oil, massage and whitening lotion). The whitening scrub did temporarily brighten my arms and legs. They did leave my arms and legs smoother with a hint of a musky spice smell that lasted throughout the night (love, love, love). Even my partner appreciated it. The pampering is the only part that I love about the Day Spa. Both manicurist were meticulous in that segment.

CONS. Although the manicurists were great in one sense, they also had a bad side! They were mostly in their own world! Like talking (in their native tongue) while attending me. They were even gossiping in front of me about a clientele who was just inside the other room -- plain rude! Also, one of the manicurist had an attitude problem which I think needs to be sorted out (having mini tantrums in front of a customer doesn't look good). Not only that, one of the manicurists stopped doing what she was doing to attend another customer (???!) making the whole process one and half hour to complete. Obviously, they do not practice the first come, first serve policy.

In conclusion, although the products used and service were good, I definitely could not enjoy the whole experience because of their work ethics: mobile phones during working hours, chatting in front of the clients as if they're not there, the attitude problem as well as bitching other customers in front of another customer.

But if you have the patience, do go for a pedicure there, just for the luxury of getting those legs pampered! Good luck.

I found this mask while I was back in makeup school. After using the school's products, they made my skin dry and itchy, I was lucky to come across this at Watsons and was amazed with the results after a few minutes of using it. Now, I even use it to prep my brides' skin. Smells and feels delish!

MAKEUP: WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A MAKEUP ARTIST

There are makeup artists and then there are Makeup Artists. What I mean is that there are some artists out there that have no cosmetic experience other than selling makeup. Therefore, you need to be aware of self-proclaimed makeup artists and a pro makeup artist with schooling behind them.

What do they do? By knowing what their occupation is, we can find out how much time a MUA actually spends applying makeup.

For example, three makeup artists: MUA A, MUA B and MUA C say they have 10 years experience. MUA A works in a salon where she does hair and books 3 makeup services in a month. MUA B works part-time and occasionally does makeup for family and friends when she is not working as a teacher and books 2 weddings a month. MUA C works as a retail makeup artist for years, working with tons of clients every day, a photo shoot a month and books 20 weddings per year.

Can you see the difference in experience?

How did She get started as a makeup artist? If she started in film, the chances are the makeup will photograph well because she understands lighting. But if the MUA is a special effects artist, she may not have experience in beauty makeup and miss details or blending.

If she started at a makeup counter, she will have hands-on experience applying makeup on different types of faces and have extensive product knowledge. But be sure to ask about her training as many makeup brands look for retail experience and not based on her makeup portfolio.

If she started in fashion, she will know the current trends and choose colors that work. She will create your look to compliment your features, your dress, and the wedding style. But if she’s used to working only with models, she may forget that it’s your day!

If she started doing makeup on family and friends like the infamous Kevyn Aucoin, make sure to ask how her typical week is like (what does she do? how many weddings had she booked in a year?) and that her portfolio looks good and that her career should have included training.

Note if she is asking questions about yourself before she picks up a brush. Every makeup application should start with a consultation. She should ask you to describe your current makeup routine: the products, colors, how and where you apply them.

Your makeup artist should also ask you what you want to look like on your wedding day and really listen to your response before making suggestions. She should then ask about the details of your wedding: the location and time of day will make a big difference in the lighting in which you’ll be seen. The colors, flowers, decor, and mood of the wedding will help to shape the makeup look (romantic? natural? vintage? modern?). Finally, the dress MUST be considered by your makeup artist. Not only will she need to see the color (warm vs. cool) and style but the neckline, jewelry and hairstyle will influence the application as well.

In summary, the more questions she asks, the more you will like it. Beware of anyone following her “creative vision” without regard to your opinion. At the end of the day, the only person who needs to like the makeup is you, the bride.

Do you like her? This may seem obvious but this person will become a part of your wedding day. She will most likely be in the room when you are getting ready with your bridesmaids, will be one of the first people to see you in your dress and one of the last people you hug before you walk down the aisle. She doesn’t need to become your BFF but she shouldn’t give you the creeps either. Even if her portfolio looks like a Vogue cover, if you don’t want to be around her, she’s not a good choice.

Hello darlings.

I was feeling nostalgic and made my first attempt of banoffee pie. This was one of the two desserts (the other being apple crumble served with cream) that the Bruneian kids anticipated during our boarding house days in Reckitt House.

Although it didn't taste exactly like the one in Reckitt, it certainly did bring back memories of my carefree life (minus the assignment deadlines and A level exams) *laughs* and the great company of true friends who were really like my second family.

Missed me?

I am back from a week's holiday with the beau. If you didn't know, it was my 25th birthday five days ago (10th November).

6th Nov: we arrived at KLIA and took a taxi straight to LCCT to catch Tiger airways last flight out to Singapore. We both were quite pissed because the RM1.60 bus to LCCT just left and had to use the RM40 taxi instead (ridicolous price for that short distance). Suddenly, I felt stupid using RBA when we could have just used Air Asia. For the first time in our lives, my boyfriend and I used Tiger airways. We thought that the seats were a plus but the price of extra baggage and food are expensive (nasi lemak for SGD10).

7th and 8th Nov: Shopping! What shopping? Expensive prices of food and taxi , the pouring rain, rude salesmen and heavy crowds of shopaholics and window shoppers spoilt our shopping spirit. I ended up spoiling the beau with shoes.

9th Nov: was supposed to meet up with friends but that got cancelled because of a communication breakdown. Flew back to Kuala Lumpur and checked in to hotel by 11 pm.

10th Nov: after an hour in KL, the beau sneaked out to buy me a birthday cake and we went to the hotel's rooftop at midnight to blow out my candles. He's so sweet. I treated myself with this season's Prada collection and a limited edition Christmas collection purse which has my zodiac sign on it. I'm in love with them.

11th Nov: checked into the Gardens hotel. Executive deluxe room. Highly recommended. I love the shower head. Laughs. Oh and the view, of course. Went to Subang Jaya to check out Sukeats' skate shop and crashed Ezra's house. Calvin also joined us that day and they both crashed in our room.

12th Nov: last minute shopping. Krispy kreme! Got amazing collection of fake eyelashes. Can't wait to try. Ezra and Calvin sent us to the airport. Got back to Brunei safe.

I am going to Kuala Lumpur in two days time. The weekend ahead was suppose to be spent learning with Malaysian makeup artist Ian, unfortunately my excitement is now short-lived because I have to be busy shopping in Singapore that very weekend.

Malaysia-International Fashion Week is starting today so if you happen to be in Kuala Lumpur head down to the unveiling at Pavilion. It is a five days event showcasing works of up and coming Malaysian designers.

I can't say much. I don't have anything to say yet. Perhaps it's because it's three in the morning and my brain is giving me a hard time to process my thoughts. I'll update you later. With what? I'm not sure.

Had two makeup trials for two bride-to-be: Hawa and Datul who are getting married next month. Congratulations to them both! I would have taken photos and show you darlings the end result but my camera was absent on both occasions. Sigh.

I recently added Kryolan to my makeup collection and so far, I have used one of their many products and I am not impressed yet. The product seems to be famous among makeup artists in Malaysia and Jason swears by it saying that he doesn't need to do much but just blend the product well.

Anyway, I cant wait to go back to Kuala Lumpur in two weeks time. I booked myself an appointment with Ian for a makeup workshop. Will update you on how well it goes. Smiles. I was thinking after Kuala Lumpur, I might fly myself down to Jakarta and take up makeup lessons there too just to get a feel of how different countries apply their makeup. Trust me, there is a difference. Probably will go as far as Egypt to find out. Smiles.

QUICK TRIP TO KL

Hello darlings.

Day one: arrived LCCT on time. Mood spoilt because it costs RM50 for the cab to drive my mother, brother and I to KLIA Pan Pacific (it's so damn near). Got more pissed to find out that my brother's keyboard won't fit into any of the standard cabs therefore, had to pay RM25 extra to rent a van. Checked in hotel. Had a hot-steamy bath. Slept.

Day two: plans to go to Brunei High Com and to Ipoh canceled. I suggested shopping in Kuala Lumpur. Got to lobby and asked for a limousine service: that'll be RM160. No thanks. Got a buggy to drop us off at the airport and took the RM10 bus to KL Central. Took a delayed and crowded KTM to MidValley. Mom made me promise not to put her in that type of ordeal . From now on no more Airasia and public transportation (exc. taxis) when travelling with mom. Very late and shockingly expensive lunch (nasi campur for three persons RM47 - beyond comprehension). Mom was beginning to feel that going to KL was a bad idea but quickly lightened up when she bought new pair of Nike shoes to walk in. Grabbed a few gym essentials for myself. RM60 back to hotel. Had a hot-steamy bath and facial. Slept.

Day three: Uncle Dato picked us up and drove us to Alor Gajah, Malacca in style. I slept most of the way in the back of his 7 series. The trip was not more than two hours. Uncle gave us a guest house to sleep in. He's really nice. Even gave me a few business pointers. Couldn't sleep. Watched five different Malay series on RTM3 before I got to sleep. Yes, I was that desperate to be entertained.

Day four: Registered Idrous at MMU and watched him settle down at his new apartment. Left Malacca and back to Pan Pacific where my mother and I had the best dinner at one of their restaurants. Uncle Nizam picked us up and asked us to stay at his house in Kuala Lumpur. Loving his beautiful Persian cats.

Day five: Mom complained that I was talking in my sleep. I did dream about someone. But my comment about that person seems to clash with how I feel about ... that person. Nyeh. Went out for last minute shopping: RM915 worth of makeup and Prada bag, sponsored by my mother. Grins. Rushed back to Uncle Nizam's. Packed. Rushed to airport. I arrived Brunei on time. Wohoo.

This is by far my busiest week. I was assigned to do all of Aqilah Z's bridal makeup and have spent most days creating looks for the newly wed. Do check out her makeup on her solemnization day: here and more coming soon.

I will be going away to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow. I can't imagine how the day will unfold with me doing Aqilah's wedding reception and ambil-ambilan makeup just hours before my flight. I "love" Airasia (note sarcasm). I don't think I could bear their flight delays after a hard day's work. Too bad RBA doesn't fly out to Kuala Lumpur that same night. It would be logical to fly out the next day but apparently, it is most important that I arrive Kuala Lumpur before the 19th to sort out my brother's uni registration.

I sense me being cranky but that will all dimish with a little retail therapy *sigh* a makeup haul. Smiles.

Monday. My former principal at Leighton Park, John D, dropped by Brunei for his annual visit and the former students, the OLs, have organized a safari boat trip to see Proboscis monkeys. Interesting for me because one, I have forgotten how 7 AM looked like and two, Brunei is really a jungle!

Wednesday. Quick dinner with John D, the parents of current Leightonians and OLs at Rizqun. And off to Coffee Zone to meet up with the bride and groom to be to discuss about their wedding dates and makeup looks for the wedding.

Thursday. Held a mini talk and discussion at Science School's Entrepeneurial Club. Not a bad crowd. Qil asked me to wear something outrageous. I wore a mini jumpsuit and gladiator heels and she was shocked. Laughs. Picked up 100 KGS of clothes for RPS from the cargo. BAD Comedy Night 3 at 8. Splendid. I'm glad I said yes.

I am tired but happy because my beau is online and I'm in love with him. Good night beautiful people.

Did you know that cosmetics are taxable in Brunei? I didn't. Because the last few trips carrying my makeup kit back and forth Kuala Lumpur and Brunei, not once was I taxed. Until tonight.

I was carrying BND 2000 worth of makeup and when they asked me how much they all cost I couldn't give them an exact amount! So I shrugged. They assumed I was carrying BND400 worth of makeup and taxed me 5% = BND40. Not bad considering it actually cost more than that.

It really spoilt my trip though. Sigh.

Hello darlings.

I had my last makeup venture in kuala Lumpur before heading to Bangkok. If you were wondering, I am going to Bangkok to get my makeup trolley bag and a mobile makeup table. Slurps.

Back to my mini haul. I never bought anything from Makeup Store before. I am quite impressed with their variety in color eye shadows, blusher and etc, it was just as fun as shopping in MAC but they do not offer discounts for struggling makeup artists like myself. Laughs. And unfortunately, it is pricier than MAC. RM95 for eyelashes? Shu Uemura eyelashes cost RM65. Big difference.

I ended up buying these fun and flirty lashes for an upcoming themed makeup shoot (yet to be confirmed because I have no photographer nor models, just my imagination of how it will turn out :) ). I'm excited and so should you. Laughs.

Last but not least, I had to grow my Make Up For Ever HD collection for stage makeup. I'm beginning to love the foundation. Hee hee.

The photos became black and white and I'm unsure how to change it using a MAC and I couldn't be bothered to figure it out because I have to catch a flight in a few hours time.

I know some of you love watching me build my makeup kit (Wangee *cough*). I just bought blushers, a bucket full of eye shadows, foundation, crayon and brushes.

Sure, I went nuts with the eye shadow. Laughs. But this time around my freebie got bigger - fix + rose spray.

And with the MAC recycling program: with six empty containers, you can get a tube of lipstick. Good deal, innit? And I got six tubes mostly from the two latest collections. Although the six tubes of lipstick were free, I cut my fingers while depot-ting the eye shadow containers! Laughs. Oh! And broke a nail too. Laughs.

NANOTECHNOLOGY

Hello Darlings.

A few months ago I completed a facial package that cost me more than 700 dollars and the reason for this was because they used nanotechnology. The facialist showed me some anonymous pictures of before and afters and I am ashamed to say that I am an ass for buying it. Also the facialist convinced me that I will see immediate results in one treatment.

The reason why they told me this is because one nanometer when compared to one human blood cell, the blood cell is more than 4 miles longer. This meant that the particles are so tiny that it will "attack" my problem areas faster and more effectively than normal skincare products.

But here's something that the facialist won't tell you ...

Nanotechnology is fairly new and the risks of toxicity in nanomaterials found in personal care, sunscreen and cosmetics are still poorly understood.

Preliminary scientific research has shown that many types of nanoparticles can/result:

be toxic to human tissue and cell cultures, resulting in increased oxidative stress
inflammatory cytokine production
DNA mutation
cell death.
penetrate cell walls, including organ tissues, and are known to be highly reactive.

A recent 2009 study by Japanese researchers shows when they used nanoparticles of titanium dioxide from pregnant mice to their offspring found related brain damage, nerve system damage and reduced sperm production in male offspring.

This is concerning because titanium dioxide is one of the most widely used nanoparticles, found in cosmetics, sunscreens, food packaging, paints, wall coatings, dirt repellent coatings for windows, car coatings, etc.

Nano-scale titanium dioxide and zinc oxide particles that are found in sunscreen and cosmetics can produce free radicals, damage of DNA and cause cell toxicity. So, instead of giving us sun protection it could actually cause serious skin damage!

Major cosmetics manufacturers including Revlon, L’Oreal, Lancôme, Avon and The Body Shop also use nanoparticles.

The United Kingdom’s Royal Society, the world’s oldest scientific institution, has recommended that given the evidence of serious nanotoxicity risks, nanoparticles should be treated as new chemicals and subject to new safety assessments before being allowed in consumer products.

There are new rules passed in Europe on March 2009 will require nanoparticles in cosmetics to be labeled on the ingredients list; the regulation will also require increased safety testing for cosmetics containing nanoparticles.

Because no labeling laws exist for nanotechnology in any type of consumer product anywhere in the world, nanotech may be difficult to avoid completely SO avoid personal care products that advertise use of nanotechnology or nano ingredients. Ask the customer service department of cosmetics companies whose products you use, and ask if they use nanotech.

Unfortunately that was my new black maxi dress that caught itself at Pavilion's escalator. Laughs. I had to press the emergency button to avoid the escalator from stripping me down to my panties. Ugly sight, I imagine. Thank Goodness security and technician were quick to attend to my situation before I even hollered for help. One lady bystander offered to help but decided to let the professionals handle the matter before ripping my dress.

Note to self. Lift your maxi dresses up while getting on an escalator, even better, get your maxi dresses at the right length.

Here's what I did for my exam. I swear if I had the time, my model Jessica would have sequins all over her face.

I love sharks so I thought I made her into one. A very cute one! I really don't like sharks being perceived as an aggressive fish! Laughs. As Ula says in 50 first dates: Sharks are like dogs ... they only bite if you touch their private parts. Laughs.

Too bad the lighting did not catch the colors: mix of shimmery pinks, purples, greens and blues. The colors changes when the light touches her face.

NEW WALLET

As I walked in the Guess store in Pavilion, it occurred to me that I only came in because I desperately need a wallet and a bag (seriously). A big bag that can hold my laptop, wallet, camera, makeup, phone and umbrella. But after five minutes browsing through, I thought to myself, Guess is so not me. The bags and accessories are just too young and hip (although there was this ostrich-like bag that was to die for, has wallet to match too). I simply felt that Guess couldn't cut it. It's just not me.

What I wanted was something mature. Something serious. So I went to Prada! I wonder why the Devil would choose Prada. I loved their wallets but not as much as the wallet I bought in Gucci. Smiles.

According to the salesman, the wallet is the latest season (only came out a few weeks ago) and will be discontinued because of the leather used to make this wallet was very limited. There are only ten of these in Kuala Lumpur. I don't know whether that was salesman talk but I wished they came in black :( I think I'll grow on it in time.

Today's purchase was a bottle of Live Luxe by Jennifer Lopez. Price: RM246. Luckily I got vouchers from yesterday's girl gone wild purchase worth $140.

What I think: It is sweet and fruity, fresh and cool but strong. I imagine the person who wears it is fun, flirty, joyous and likes to smile and laugh a lot. Funny how I got that from a scent. At first I was a bit reluctant to buy it but after a while, I warmed up to it. I wouldn't call this perfume sexy as some might (like the sales guy suggested) but just fruity and flirty.

Overall, yes, it is a nice perfume. It is something different. And the salesman did say that it is the most long lasting out of the other J Lo perfumes. I think I'll wear this perfume only in the daytime. Wouldn't want to smell fruity at night. But that's just me.

BANGKOK, THAILAND

Apologies for the lack of updates. I was in Bangkok, Thailand since Thursday and just got back yesterday.

This time around, I went to Bangkok just to meet my boyfriend. Laughs. Also to support /photograph Rock Paper Scissors' international rider, Worapoj 'Note' Boonim, compete in the Singha Extreme Games. The time spent was mostly outdoors and Bangkok was scorching hot (32 degrees). He came second.

Also this time around, instead of going to the usual stop at Suan Lum night market , Suphanput and Khao San road, we went to Victory Monument night market. Unlike the three places, Victory Monument night market is the smallest and would attract mostly girls because 90% of the things sold there are for women: clothes, underwear, makeup, accessories and shoes. I was keen on buying the makeup but refrained myself because it looked low quality and some sold fake M.A.C products. Sure, the colors are nice and they are cheap but then again, what's it made of? Rather not buy than being sorry later. If you are in Bangkok and you want to go there, I say, sure if you have time to waste but I ended up empty handed and what the vendors had to offer did not perk my interest at all.

And although I had a strict no shopping policy, I did end up buying few maxi dresses for my girlfriends. But the beau loved me so much, he surprised me with studded sandals which matched both my studded bag and studded bracelet. He also bought me rings - he let me pick of course (my boyfriend is so hot right now).

I am not a perfume fan but today I felt like treating myself for some. After whiffing through numerous perfumes, I settled on four:

Paco Rabbane Ultraviolet RM245
Chloé Chloé RM368,
Paco Rabanne Black XS RM245 (2005)
Bvlgari Jasmine Noir RM335 (2008)

I cannot say which one is my favorite out of the three because I thought these were the best of them all but I definitely love, love, love Ultraviolet for men. It is so damn sexy, it makes me melt, no joke.

I rarely wear perfume because I feel that I haven't found one that defines me until now. If you like woody floral scents (very strong) like me, you will like Bvlgari's Jasmine Noir. This perfume "aims to satisfy the consumer in search of rarer sensations" and damn right it is.

Paco Rabanne Black XS is also strong probably a mix of strawberries, spices and amber. I love the color scheme and packaging. Probably the other reason why I bought it, I am quite smitten with the color pink nowadays.

Chloé is the only perfume that I bought which is not strong. Floral. Soft and romantic. Very sensual. I have to say it is quite sexy.

But I still prefer strong scents. I believe strong scents leave trails, it's so strong, the smell sticks in your head then safely tucked in your memory bank. It's so strong, so vivid, it can seep to your nostrils whenever you want, sparking the imagination.

Yes, I love strong scents. Smiles.

Honestly, I am not a big fan of figure skating but when it's on I can watch it til the end without getting bored. Anyway, I was browsing YouTube (since I have no TV) for my favorite jazz singers and one song lead to another til it got to a point where I was listening to Tom Jones' earlier songs. How lucky am I to bump into this video? I have never seen anything like it. Hope this will cheer up your Monday blues, I give you Evgeny Plushenko - Sex Bomb by Tom Jones. And yes, this is a filler.

CONQUEST OF THE GALAXY: MARS BY CONDORS

Conquest of the Galaxy: Mars is made up of short scenes in omnibus style and integrates commercials, animation film, short plays and dance done by an 11-member, all-male Japanese dance troupe Condors.

I went to the last show last night and was so thankful that I decided to go. The short commercials, animation films, short plays were through and through hilarious making fun of (in a subtle way) serious issues such as: homosexuality, work, petrol, death and even parodied Sesame Street to Rotten Smiling Street teaching us their version of the alphabets while acting out scenes for example, B for Bully and K for Keracunan Makanan.

I think to describe the whole play was male humour. I was surprised that some parents decided to bring their children to watch, I guess they didn't know what was coming. Laughs. I loved how they improvised at times and used one prop to act as different items (a french bread acted as a cigar or shit coming out of their asses etc).

I enjoyed the dance scenes as well. Highly energetic but unfortunately thought the music was too loud. I love their precise and graceful movements, it made me wish I took dance for A levels, I actually wanted to understand what message they were trying to send. Loved their lighting to create mood also, choice of music.

I wish they stayed longer so that I could bring my friends to watch but alas, last night was their final curtain and this was their first performance after 8 years in KL! So I guess I was very, very lucky. I love them guys!

BREAST MASSAGE

I came across a Kanebo boutique after going to The Strip. The big menu of services attracted me but there was one service in particular that made me stop dead on my tracks: the 45 minutes Kanebo Throat and bust lifting treatment which only costs RM128.

Coincidentally I was reading on this topic and thought of giving it a try since ...

"Massaging the breasts is good for promoting their health and for giving it a firm and beautiful appearance.
Indeed, breast massage is one of the best ways to help create a more beautiful bust line by helping to shape, tone and promote growth of the breast and the area surrounding the breast."

The service Being an international brand, yes, it was professional and up to its standard. The lady who attended me was friendly. She went through the process in detail and explained every question I had. She even taught me how to do the massage to incorporate it as a daily routine.

The process. She exfoliated my chest with fine beads. After cleaning it off, massaged my chest with essential oils then she slathered fresh yogurt on the same area and draped me into a body wrap for about 10 to 15 minutes. After that was done, I was asked to have a quick shower. Finally, the actual deal. Using the bust firming lotion, she kneaded gently by lifting it from my chest and pressing with her both hands. There were some twisting involved and wringing action.

The experience. I didn't feel at all embarrassed (how could I after the Brazilian?) It was relaxing and satisfying. It did hurt once or twice but that's because, according to her, one of my breasts is inactive. To balance the size of your breasts (if you have this problem), you need to focus on the breast that is smaller than the other by massaging it with more pressure to wake it up (as the masseuse puts it).

The result. Immediate. Perky and happy is all I have to say. It did really improve the shape of my breasts and that makes me happy.

Moreover, I was given a complimentary makeover because the shower removed all my makeup plus I was also given a complimentary facial worth RM200+ So overall, was very satisfied with the whole experience and service.

Verdict. Will do it again. More of this and I think I'll have the healthiest breasts. Laughs. The masseuse recommends to do this once a month and doesn't encourage you to do it while having your period because of hormonal changes in the glands.

I am not sure why I am letting women work on my intimates today. Probably just being adventurous. Laughs. Only in Kuala Lumpur. But I hoped that helped you ladies out there.

BRAZILIAN WAXING

Hee hee. First of all, no, I have never done it but being me, maybe I will experience the whole ordeal, just to know what the fuss is about. I was discussing this with a friend two years ago and the topic came up again quite recently with a friend who is getting married soon. I know you can get it done in two beauty salons in Brunei. One in Gadong, Essensuals and the other in Kiulap. Apparently, the one in Kiulap uses sugar while Essensuals uses wax. Don't know the difference but my manicurist (who also does my waxing) says it's less painful if done with sugar.

So, I decided to 'educate' myself and YouTube-d it and share with you my finding. This video shows the salon using wax and after watching this, it will give you have a rough idea of how it will feel like. Hope you are reading /watching this, my friend.

HELLO KITTY MEETS M.A.C

Now available in M.A.C Malaysia. Don't hurry because it's sold out. Laughs. All that was left at MidValley's branch was their eyeshadow quads. I didn't get my hands on the collection because one, I am not a big fan of Hello Kitty. Two, because I agree with Wangee, it is just another marketing scam. I am sure you can mix colors from the regular line to get the colors you get from the Hello Kitty quads. Not really impressed with the packaging either. Nonetheless, I still love M.A.C. products and will continue to buy from the regular line.

I just love the fact that I can get 20% discount even before getting my M.A.C Pro card. Got some pigments, reflectors, glitter, primers, lip conditioner, lipgloss and some brushes but I'm too lazy to name them all. They are deliciously a mouth-full. Not only did I get a Hello Kitty bag, my MUA (makeup artist) gave me free skin color corrector samples and pigment to experiment in school.

REVIEW: BOBBI BROWN MAKEUP MANUAL

Though it is not a book on advanced makeup techniques, I think Bobbi Brown's makeup manual is excellent for those who just started wearing makeup and wants to learn the basic tricks of wearing it. But it does go further by acting as a guide for budding makeup artists like myself.

Her manual is very detailed, with step-by-step photographs of how-to and practical advice what and what not to do with makeup. Other tips you'll find in the book are how to use eyeliner, shadow for every eye color and shape, choosing the right shade and colors of makeup for every skin tone and type. It also touches on basic skincare and what brushes you should own and how to use them.

This book is enjoyable to read. I have had it for two months (?) now and I find myself pick it up more often than usual. Lots of beautiful pictures that instantly inspires you to pick up your brush and just experiment. And what's more she provides you with solutions that you can feel how humble she is when writing this book. Not once did she push you to buy her products. It is truly a book that "is a true labor of love" by Bobbi Brown.
